Here is a message from WKRN General Manager Gwen Kinsey regarding our weekend morning news shows.
“We have made the decision to stop producing a local newscast in the mornings on the weekend. The audience available weekend mornings is very modest. Eliminating those telecasts enables us to direct more reporting resources to our weekend evening and Monday through Friday programs, as well as increasing the resources we have to provide on the internet in a 24/7 news day.”
but if you replace morning weekend news shows with infomericals, I’ll never watch your channel again! Well, I’m homeless, I don’t watch any tv anyway.
I honestly must say, I am very disappointed in this decision. It reflects to me that News 2 is disconnecting itself from the community.
What a large mistake you are making. Over the weekend, I will have to watch another station for local news. The animal shelter will suffer…..Do you really care about he community?
I miss the weekend show… but instead of infomercials, can we just get the entire length of GMA:Weekend?? Thanks.
HUGE MISTAKE–SOME OF US THAT WORK ALL WEEK REALLY ENJOY THAT RECLINER, COFFEE, AND THE MORNING NEWS. ( CONSIDER OTHER CHANNELS WILL STILL HAVE THE MORNING WEEK END NEWS) WHAT COULD YOU REPLACE IT WITH THAT WOULD DRAW MORE VIEWERS ANYWAY??
We were out of town when Neil went back to mornings. Was this something he wanted to do? Since we weren’t here we didn’t hear the explanation. Also, was putting Theresa on the outside a promotion?
We do miss the week-end morning news. What happened to those reporters?
Thanking you in advance for your response.
