Tonight’s one hour recap of old Dancing With The Stars shows scheduled between 7-8pm tonight will be pre-empted for a special report on Medical Advances from the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center. The regularly scheduled live results show will air at the normal time 8-9pm.

7pm: Medical Advances - Cancer Innovations and Hope For The Future - (Dancing with the Stars RECAP show is pre-empted)
8pm: Dancing with the Stars LIVE RESULTS SHOW
9pm: ABC PRIMETIME: What would you do?
10pm: News 2 at 10

The Dancing with the Stars recap show will air at 1:30am

Programming Change: no more weekend morning news

Here is a message from WKRN General Manager Gwen Kinsey regarding our weekend morning news shows.

“We have made the decision to stop producing a local newscast in the mornings on the weekend.  The audience available weekend mornings is very modest. Eliminating those telecasts enables us to direct more reporting resources to our weekend evening and Monday through Friday programs, as well as increasing the resources we have to provide on the internet in a 24/7 news day.”

Programming Change: New Hampshire Primary

Tune in tonight for a special look at the New Hampshire Primary live at 7:30pm CT.

Due to the increasing amount of political news on the eve of the New Hampshire Primary, we have scheduled “ABC News Special 2008: The New Hampshire Primary,” tomorrow night (Tuesday, 1/8/08).  The ABC News special will air live in the 8:30 - 9:00 PM ET time period, replacing “Just for Laughs” in the Eastern and Central time zones.  Stations in the Mountain regions may carry the ABC News Special live in local time if they choose. The disposition of this ABC News Special in the Pacific Time Zone will be advised.

UPDATE 6:37 p.m. - ABC has changed the schedule for the program to 8-8:30 p.m.

Correction to program notice

Just a few corrections to Christian’s post regarding “Charlie Brown Christmas” and “Santa is Coming To Town.”

A Charlie Brown Christmas will air on Sunday, 12/2/07 at 4pm and ABC will repeat this program on Monday, 12/3/07 at 7pm.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town has been moved by ABC and will air on Wednesday, 12/5/07 at 7pm.   ABC is airing America’s Funniest Home Videos on Tuesday, 12/4/07 at 7pm, however, due to Titans on 2 With Jeff Fisher, America’s Funniest Home Videos will air on Sunday, 12/9/07 at 4pm.

WKRN Christmas program changes due to Titans

• A Charlie Brown Christmas, which was preempted last night by Titans on 2 with Jeff Fisher and the Titans Game, will air Sunday December 2nd at 4:00p.m.
     
• Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town will now air Sunday December 9 at 4p.m. due to Titans on 2 with Jeff Fisher airing December 4 at 7p.m.

Titans’ game will delay ABC programming

The Titans’ game will be broadcast live on News 2 Monday night, delaying regularly scheduled programming on ABC

The following will air Tuesday morning:
12:35 a.m. –Dancing with the Stars
2:05 a.m. – Samantha Who
2:35 a.m. – The Bachelor

Coverage of the game on News 2 will begin on with a special edition of “Titans on 2 with Jeff Fisher” at 7 p.m. 

The game will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Writers’ strike affects online viewing at WKRN.com

PROGRAMMING NOTE: If you are looking online for some of your favorite prime-time shows airing on WKRN, you could soon see re-runs.  The Writers Guild of America agreement expired October 31, 2007 and covered about 12,000 members of both West and East chapters.

Writers, who say the future of television distribution will be online, are on strike seeking an agreement that includes a fair share of revenue from online distribution of their work. WKRN viewers who miss on-air prime time shows like Desperate Housewives or Grey’s Anatomy can now watch entire episodes on demand with limited interuption at WKRN.com and WKRNNewsExtra.com (player buttons on the right sidebar).

Here is how the break down looks for some ABC shows:

• Desperate Housewives - 4 episodes (through first of December)
• Grey’s Anatomy - 5 episodes
• Dirty Sexy Money and Brothers and Sisters - at least 11 episodes

PROGRAMMING CHANGE: It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown was previously scheduled to air on WKRN-TV tonight at 7 p.m., but will now air Halloween afternoon at 3 p.m. so that we can bring you Titans on 2 Live with Jeff Fisher.

Every now and then I pop in to see how Rose Mary is doing at the front desk. I’m glad I did today. She tells me she’s getting a lot of calls about ABC’s Cavemen. On Tuesday nights at 7, WKRN airs Titans on 2 with Jeff Fisher. On Saturday nights at 7 we air football. Those games can go over and affect the following schedule, but here is how the other shows are arranged:

Cavemen - Saturday 11:05 p.m.
Car Poolers - Saturday 11:35 p.m.
Sex In The City - Sunday 12:05 a.m. and 12:35 a.m.
Cold Squad - Sunday 1:05 a.m.
Ebert & Roepert - Sunday 2:05 a.m.
Degrassi: Next Generation - Sunday 2:35 a.m.
